Since many years, I have a great interest in economics and psychology. Moreover, since my exchange year during high school to Beijing, I developed an even greater interest for China and Asia. The Dual Undergraduate Degree Programme in Economics from CUHK and Tsinghua University is therefore, the best choice I could make. It allows me to not just study on two of the most prestige universities in Asia, but also explore and learn about two cities that are both important players in the world economy. Getting to know ambitious and talented students is just one benefit of this wide-ranging programme. Furthermore, I am really interested in solving the global issues and build a better world for everyone to live in. Therefore, I believe that this programme will equip me not just with the knowledge but also provides many opportunities for self-development.

For my future, I plan to pursue a postgraduate degree and afterwards work in Eurasia with renewable energy and sustainability-oriented companies. To be more precise, I plan on working in the management or project development sectors.

As a global citizen with a Hong Kong and mainland background, I looked forward to examining international economic issues and eruditions in the Chinese economy. So I believe the CUHK-Tsinghua University Dual Undergraduate Degree Programme in Economics, offered by Asia’s two top universities, is a perfect fit that satisfies my demands. Studying at two institutions allows me to expand my social circle, which I believe is one of the most valuable resources we acquire during our studies. Moreover, earning two of the most prestigious bachelor’s degrees from both institutions opens up many more opportunities and choices, as I have yet to decide whether to pursue my career in Hong Kong or the mainland.

Upon graduation, I intend to either gain work experience through the consultancy sector or pursue a postgraduate degree in Finance, which will better equip me with the skills to work in investment banking.

I chose to study in the CUHK-Tsinghua University Dual Undergraduate Degree Programme in Economics because I believe that societal development is inseparable with economic activities. At the meantime, the two universities can provide unique resources and perspectives for us to achieve our learning goals. Firstly, each being one of the most prestigious universities in their regions, Tsinghua University and CUHK provide an excellent platform particularly for those who will potentially work in Mainland or Hong Kong. During the course of four years, students can acquire internship experience in both Beijing and Hong Kong which helps students pave career paths in both places. Secondly, this programme allows us to compare and contrast two very similar yet different cultures, which facilitates us to better understand how economy functions differently in various places, cultures, and circumstances. Lastly, having lived in both Beijing and Hong Kong, I have very deep connections with both cities, so I am very happy to continue my academic journey in the cities I love.

In the future, I wish to conduct research related to development economics that can be used for drafting more efficient economic policies.

Having lived in Hong Kong and Macau, the two Special Administrative Regions of China, I am nurtured with a multi-cultural and an international perspective which inspires and allows me to explore the role of economics in both global and local settings. In addition, the recent fascinating economic achievements in China and financial issues around the world have further aroused my desire to explore the world of economics. Hence, I would like to enroll in the CUHK-Tsinghua University Dual Undergraduate Degree Programme in Economics, hoping to receive state-of-the-art economic knowledge, develop a global vision to explore the ever-changing business world, and hopefully to effect positive changes in the field concerned.

After graduation, I plan on pursuing a postgraduate degree and possibly getting a job in the consultancy and finance sectors.
